Gretchen of Wylder Witchery
Gretchen describes herself as a nomadic reader. Elegant and articulate, she splits her time between New York City, Los Angeles and takes “regular pilgrimages” to Salem, Mass.
She is an actor by trade and is the creator of the acclaimed “These Thems,” a LGBTQ comedy web series about a group of four queer friends living in New York. The series is streaming on Outfest and has garnered a number of film festival awards.
When she is not acting, Gretchen can be found reading tarot at venues such as Omen in Salem and Lord and Taylor and the McKittrick Hotel in NYC.
“I am a Pisces and I was always drawn to the tarot,” she says. “I started reading for friends and for parties and more and more people began requesting readings.”
Originally from St. Louis, Gretchen moved to NYC to pursue her dream of acting. She balances her spiritual pursuits with her acting and sees both as intertwined. Many of her clients are attracted to her reading style.
“It is my vibe,” she says. “I always look at the positive. I use humor in my interpretation of the cards. Even if there is a darker message, I present it in a way that is not fearful.”
She says that she considers herself a witch, but says she is a solo practitioner. “Instead of following a specific tradition, I connect with the different spirits of seasons and my guides for intuition, magick, and guidance.”
“Every tarot reading reminds you that there is a higher power, no matter what you identify that is,” she says. “My readings give good vibes and a path forward. I love career and manifestation advice – and I love ‘love’ too – it is the most important thing.”
