Gary Suto
Smoky Mountain Reader
For many years, Gary Suto was known as the “Pagan Mayor” of New York City.
He led and coordinated many public rituals in Manhattan. A high priest in the New York Coven and a third-degree high priest in the Temenos Ophiotauros, a grove of the Minoan Brotherhood, he has held a high profile role in the pagan community.
As a coven elder, he is also affectionately called “Pagan Daddy” in the New York City esoteric community for his wisdom and years of experience.
Suto has been a tarot reader for more than 40 years and has also taught numerous workshops on divination.
Raised by gypsy grandparents, Suto was surrounded by astrology, numerology, palmistry, and “old-world gypsies” while growing up. Reading tarot and working in the occult arts was second nature to him.
Suto worked for many years at the Magickal Realms in the Bronx, as a reader, as well as a number of other venues in Manhattan.
He says that his favorite layout is a reading that he created which goes six weeks into the future for a client. He also does a reading that will look at the upcoming year, month by month.
Suto has a B.S. in textile design and was a fashion designer in NYC for many years. He is currently designing an IChing tarot deck and writing a book to go with it.
